Here are some ways to keep your breath fresh at all times, particularly in those special occasions.

- Don't get dehydrated. There are two ways that water helps to keep the mouth healthy. It washes away the food debris and bacteria that cause bad breath and it can keep the oral tissues moist. This prevents the sulfur compounds that cause bad odor from building up at the back of the tongue. Green tea is also good for freshening the breath because it reduces the build-up of sulfur compounds and oral bacteria.
- Include an antibacterial spray or mouth rinse as part of your oral hygiene routine. Many mouth rinses have ingredients that are good at preventing plaque from building up and for combating periodontal disease. Moreover, they help to freshen the breath. The bacteria that cause bad odor can be kept to a minimum with at least one mouth rinse each day. There are also some effective sprays that neutralize sulfur compounds and freshen the breath.
- Stick to a properly balanced diet with the right nutrients. Foods that are high in fiber such as raw vegetables, apples, and other crunchy items, are good for producing saliva, which will help wash away the bacteria that cause malodor.
